The Spanish accounting system is unforgiving. We make it manageable.
Spain’s accounting system has its own rules, deadlines and quirks. Whether you’re registering as self-employed for the first time or running an established SL company, staying compliant means quarterly filings, social security contributions, VAT returns and annual accounts — all in Spanish, all on time. At Baleario we handle the paperwork, manage the deadlines and keep you on the right side of Hacienda. With over 20 years of experience and 400+ clients supported, we know what works.

Our Accounting Services
Autónomo registration
Getting your autónomo registration right from the start matters. The wrong activity code, incorrect VAT setup or a missed social security registration can cause problems that take months to fix. We handle both registrations — with the tax authority and with Social Security — so you can start invoicing legally from day one.
€95 – one-off registration fee
Autónomo accounting
Once registered, the compliance doesn’t stop. Quarterly VAT returns, quarterly income tax payments, annual returns and social security contributions all need managing throughout the
year. We take care of all of it — bookkeeping, expense tracking, filings and deadlines — so none of it falls on you.
€80 /month
SL company registration
Setting up a Sociedad Limitada in Spain involves notary appointments, Mercantile Registry submission, tax authority registration and social security setup. Getting the structure right from the start avoids costly amendments later. We manage the full registration process and ensure the company is correctly set up for trading from day one.
From €150 /month
Business accounting (SL)
Running a Sociedad Limitada brings more administrative obligations than autónomo status — monthly tax filings, annual accounts, corporate tax
and employee obligations all require careful management throughout the year. We act as your long-term accounting partner, handling compliance so the business can focus on growth.
From €150 /month
Still don't have a NIE?
We can help you apply for a NIE, register as an autónomo, set up a company and get everything in place before your accounting begins.

Why Baleario
Certified and accredited
Baleario is a professional member of AECA (Asociación Española de Contabilidad y Administración de Empresas) and ASOCIAE (Asociación de Asesores Contables, Fiscales y Laborales). Our accountants are accredited to collaborate directly with the Agencia Tributaria (Spanish Tax Agency), enabling us to manage a wide range of tax procedures efficiently on our clients’ behalf.
The right tools for Spain
We use Odoo and Holded as our primary accounting platforms. Both are built for the Spanish market, integrating seamlessly with Agencia Tributaria and supporting compliant accounting, VAT and tax reporting. If you already use another platform, such as Xero, QuickBooks or FreeAgent, we can work with that too, making it easy to support international businesses and cross-border operations without disrupting your existing processes.
Fast, efficient accounting across Spain
Based in Palma, we work with clients across Mallorca, Ibiza, Marbella, Barcelona, Madrid and beyond. Everything can be handled remotely by phone, email or video call, making it easy to get expert advice wherever you’re based. We pride ourselves on responsive customer service, clear communication, and an honest, transparent approach that puts long-term relationships first.
founder Quote
“Spanish tax and accounting isn’t difficult because the rules
are impossible to understand. It’s difficult because people are
rarely given the full picture.”
Most of the problems we see don’t come from complex structures. They
come from small misunderstandings that compound over time — residency
assumed too late, income reported inconsistently, filings treated as one-off
tasks instead of part of a wider financial picture.
Baleario was built to fix that. We look at residency, income structure, assets
and long-term plans together. We take responsibility for the work we file,
because getting it right matters.
Whether you’re just registering as autónomo or running an established SL,
our aim is the same: fewer surprises, fewer mistakes, and a tax position you
can actually trust.
